Italy's Interior Ministry awards €450 million contract to Finmeccanica to extend TETRA PIT Programme

The Italian Interior Ministry has awarded a contract worth €450 million (including VAT) to Finmeccanica - an Italian aerospace, defence and security company - to extend the Progetto Interpolizie TETRA (PIT) Programme

Finmeccanica_logo.jpgThe Italian Interior Ministry has awarded a new contract worth €450 million (including VAT) to Finmeccanica – an Italian aerospace, defence and security company – to extend the Progetto Interpolizie TETRA (PIT) Programme.

The programme is for the implementation of a TETRAâ€based missionâ€critical national mobile radio service to assure secure communications for Italy’s police forces. The contract, which was signed by Finmeccanica on 31 December 2015, will allow for further development of the service across other Italian regions and is financed through funds assigned by the Italian Stability Law of 2013, 2014 and 2015.
