Sepura is showcasing its MBS Lite, a standalone outdoor TETRA base station, and a range of accessories at Critical Communications World 2016.

mbs.pngMBS Lite delivers all TETRA standard functionality, in a single box, including voice, data and security services. It also contains both RF and control elements, and its fanless design drastically reduces maintenance costs. It can be linked to another MBS to create a two-carrier base station, and availability can be maximised by configuring one of the carriers as a hot standby redundant unit.

It also requires no additional unit or shelter at its base and provides quick coverage for business critical scenarios in mines, industry, hotels, commercial centres or sporting events. A set of software tools also allows for remote maintenance, such as real-time provisioning of users and groups, system configuration and network status monitoring.

Juan Ferro, VP systems for Sepura, commented: “The MBS Lite is a valuable addition to our TETRA portfolio. A simple, yet effective, small system that complements our existing range of market-leading TETRA products, considerably strengthening the product range offered by our global network of distributors. We anticipate significant interest in this innovative solution.”

Accessories

The accessories cover a new console range - HBC3, a new handset-based colour console, and the SCC3, a new DIN-, handlebar- and marine-mountable colour console. These will be selected for use with TETRA technology products such as the flagship SC20 hand-portable to the SRG3900, which Sepura claims is “the world’s best-selling TETRA gateway”.

Modular_ear_hanger.jpgThe consoles have a shortcut and notification bar to alert users to missed calls or messages, as well as major changes in the radio’s operational state. Like the SC20, the consoles feature three context keys, creating “an intuitive user experience and helping to reduce training costs”, claims Sepura.

"The PMR accessories market has developed considerably in the last few years, with new products – and new suppliers – appearing all the time,” said John Drewnicki, accessories product manager for Sepura. This is great news for customers: competition fuels innovation, providing greater choice and creating an exciting and dynamic marketplace.”

Gary Aitkenhead, VP of devices at Sepura added: "We have a long history of innovative accessory development. These products demonstrate our continued commitment to the expansion of our portfolio and to the delivery of accessories of the highest quality to our customers.”
