TCCA ‘chief strategist’ retires

Vice chair of the TCCA board and chair of the TETRA Industry Group (TIG) Malcolm Quelch, has announced that he’s going to retire from the industry.

Malcolm has served as a TCCA board member for the last six years, and has been vice chair since June 2016. He has also been responsible for the activities of the TIG – which helps to drive the development of mission critical communications technology – since 2013

Speaking of Malcolm’s contribution, TCCA board chair Mladen Vratonjić said: “I want to thank Malcolm for his enormous contribution, devotion to TCCA and the many hours of hard work he has put in it. He was not only the vice chair of the board, he was our chief strategist, financial and legal advisor, and our main ‘negotiator.’

“He was also the board member to whom we turned to help us determine our collective attitude towards difficult issues. His many contributions to our success - and that of the TETRA industry - are immeasurable, and we are going to miss him tremendously.”

Quelch has more than 20 years’ experience in telecoms, preceded by two decades in the semiconductor sector. He has worked for Philips Components, Philips Telecom–PMR, Simoco, and is currently a consultant for Sepura.

According to the organisation, the new TCCA vice chair will be determined at its June board meeting. The new chair of the TIG is Francesco Pasquali, who has been a board member and director since 2006, responsible for liaison with the Technical Forum and the TCCA IOP Certification Authority (ISCOM).
