Hytera to launch PT790 Ex TETRA ATEX radio in Europe at CCW

Hytera has announced that it will launch its PT790 Ex TETRA handheld radio in Europe during the Critical Communication World exhibition in Amsterdam, 31 May to 2 June

The PT790 Ex is certified with the highest level of intrinsic safety and has an ATEX certification of the highest grade, "ia", meaning it can be used in areas which permanently contain an explosive atmosphere of air and flammable gases, vapours or mists (zone 0). It has been designed for the needs of users in the oil, gas and mining industries, and to meet fire brigades' requirements. The new Hytera radio is protected against dust and moisture, with a IP67 rating, and it meets the US military standard MIL STD-810 F/G.

To ensure the highest safety at work the PT790 Ex includes man down and lone worker functionalities. The integrated GNSS module comes as standard and collects positioning data via GPS, GLONASS and Beidou and can transmit these data to the control centre for further evaluations. It can also withstand immersion for at least 30 minutes at a water depth of one metre. It meets the requirements of the ETSI TETRA standard and is compatible with infrastructure and terminals from different manufacturers.

In addition to voice and data communications, the PT790 Ex provides encryption, programmable keys and has an interface for extensions and accessories.
