Fresno rolls out Axon

Fresno Police Department in California has deployed Axon’s CAD platform, Axon Dispatch.

Axon describes Dispatch as “a robust system built on modern cloud technologies, designed to enhance 9-1-1 call centers. [It] will provide [the department] with robust real-time notifications, modern mapping, a streamlined interface and a seamless connection to agency-critical data sources.”

Fresno PD has previously rolled-out a variety of other products from the manufacturer, including body worn cameras, evidence management solutions, and “TASER energy weapons.”

Speaking of the deployment, Fresno chief of police, Paco Balderrama, said: “We are proud to have been a development partner with Axon as they worked intensely to develop a cutting-edge computer-aided dispatch system from the ground up. We look forward to a continued productive relationship with them, developing the best technology geared toward the protection and safety of our community."

Rick Smith, Axon CEO and founder, said: “This technology is a game changer for 911 call centers, and how officers respond to calls for assistance. We are excited to partner with Fresno PD as they lead the way with modern CAD technology."
