Massive Peruvian TETRA contract awarded

Hytera Mobilfunk has won the contract to supply over 8,000 TETRA devices to the Peruvian Ministry of Interior. According to the company it is the largest international public radio TETRA tender awarded to date in the country.

The contract includes an agreement to supply 6,459 Hytera PT580H Plus TETRA hand-held radios, 1,714 Hytera MT680 Plus TETRA mobile radios, and 30 Hytera MT680 Plus B fixed TETRA radio stations.

Hytera will also develop a customised application interface for the police, allowing officers to query data directly from their radio.

Head of Hytera Perú Luis Perez said: "Hytera´s commitment with the Peruvian government to improve public safety in Peru has been reinforced with this new contract award. Our local team are proud to be part of the modernisation process for public safety radio communications which will ultimately benefit Peruvian citizens and tourists."

The project includes 36 months of after-service support provided by Hytera.
