New radio system chosen for US Embassy in Japan

The American government has awarded JVCKENWOOD the contract to kit-out the US Embassy and consulates in Japan with digital radio equipment.

The company will supply its NEXEDGE solution, one feature of which is guaranteed confidentiality in digital mode.

Speaking of the rollout, a spokesperson for JVCKENWOOD said: “We have been awarded the contract in recognition of a long-standing track record of providing professional digital radio equipment to the US Department of State.

“We have delivered the technology to a total of eight facilities across Japan. The group applied its collective strengths to build the systems by providing support for acquisition of a license to use a radio communications station.”

The installation and set-up of the system was undertaken by JVCKENWOOD Public & Industrial Systems Corporation.
