The framework agreement will run between the end of 2017 and covers the supply of TH1n terminal equipment, accessories, software and maintenance services. It includes the option to extend it by a further two years.

The Th1n is small enough to be easily carried in a jacket pocket, on a belt or in a purse, making it particularly suited to clandestine operations. Despite being lightweight and small, it behaves as a fully-fledged TETRA radio and has a IP65 environmental protection rating. Thanks to its existing certification it can be fully integrated into Germany’s new BOS digital radio network. It has an output rating of 3L (1.8 W), which provides additional range in areas of poor network coverage. Its repeater function when operating in direct mode allows teams to create a communication channel between users that would otherwise be outside the range of the other radios.
